In fact, according to photographer Birk Mobius, the break in the lightning bolt is a Boing 777, which Mobius says was struck mid-air.
It’s a one-in-a-million shot Mobius took on Aug. 24 while he was at Taucha Airport near Leipzig, Germany. It was, he wrote, “probably themost unique and spectacular” shot he got all day.
Indeed, Birk! We’re awestruck. And fortunately for those on board the plane, it reportedly landed safely with no ill effects.
